Tim Gow shares his journey with Great Estate and Great Stays

Great Estate hosted in Italy Tim Gow, Chief Sub-Editor of Times Weekend and Times2, for an exclusive press trip organised in collaboration with Reed PR.

In May 2025, Great Estate and Great Stays had the pleasure of welcoming to Italy the British journalist Tim Gow, from The Times&Sunday Times, for an exclusive press trip arranged together with Reed PR, who has been supporting our press office in international Public Relations activities for nearly a year.

This media trip was designed to provide a first-hand experience of our world: unique properties, authentic experiences, and the warm human touch that characterise Great Estate, Great Stays, and the Italian lifestyle.

A JOURNEY THROUGH EXCLUSIVE RESIDENCES AND AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES

Tim Gow and his wife stayed at two of the most evocative properties managed by Great Stays, the business unit of Holding GE dedicated to luxury, authentic, and sustainable holiday rentals in the most exclusive locations in Tuscany and Umbria.

Casalberna, in the heart of Val d’Orcia, near San Casciano dei Bagni in Tuscany, is a refined farmhouse offering open views of the surrounding hills: a truly unique place.

Casale Sunset, overlooking Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, combines the authentic charm of tradition with contemporary comfort: an experience of pure harmony, relaxation, and breathtaking panoramas.

Alongside visits to extraordinary residences, the programme intertwined genuine experiences that tell the real soul of Tuscany and Umbria.

An afternoon in San Casciano dei Bagni, exploring the village and enjoying the rejuvenating wellness at Fonteverde Thermal Baths, a timeless symbol of tradition and self-care. A lively cooking class at Casalberna, organised by Great Stays, transformed cooking into a creative and sharing moment.

Then, a morning of truffle hunting at Tenuta Poggiovalle: an experience revealing the secrets of an ancient art, made of patience, nature, and tradition passed down through generations.

The journey continued with a fun e-bike tour around Lake Trasimeno, a light and dynamic way to savour the landscape, surrounded by enchanting views and an atmosphere of freedom.

Finally, the concluding stop was at the historic Colle Santa Mustiola Farm in Chiusi. Here, among vineyards telling centuries of passion and along the suggestive Vie delle Torri, Tim Gow experienced tasting and conviviality, reconnecting with the Great Estate and Great Stays professionals.

A final toast marked the end of the trip, turning it into a treasured memory filled with friendship, gratitude, and authentic Italian beauty.

This experience revealed not only places and landscapes but also the human dimension of our group, characterised by authenticity, professionalism, and passion: values and characteristics that deeply impressed Tim.

FROM INTERNATIONAL PRESS TO GLOBAL VISIBILITY

The content collected during the trip was widely shared on social media and increased the visibility of Great Estate & Great Stays among UK media and an international high-profile audience.

The highlight of this media trip was the publication in The Sunday Times of a full-page article titled This is the best way to discover Umbria and Tuscany’s quiet sides.
The feature presents our innovative Try Before You Buy concept, offering the opportunity to live in a property before deciding to purchase it.
The journey begins with “Try,” thanks to Great Stays, experiencing the elegance and comfort of our exclusive properties, and completes with “Buy,” through Great Estate, turning that experience into a concrete, long-term investment.

Furthermore, the story highlights the experiences Tim enjoyed and the value of our properties, both as luxurious holiday homes and as long-term investments.

A COLLABORATION THAT DELIVERS TANGIBLE RESULTS

This significant achievement is the result of the work carried out with Reed PR, which, over the past year, has supported our international communication, enabling our group to appear in some of the most prestigious foreign media outlets.
Tim Gow’s media trip represents another step forward in showcasing the Italian lifestyle offered by Great Estate and Great Stays: a blend of hospitality, real estate excellence, and unique experiences, designed for those who wish not only to buy a home in Italy but to live it fully.

With this project, we have once again brought the voice of Great Estate onto one of the most authoritative international media platforms, reinforcing our mission: to connect people and cultures through the value of real estate excellence and the Italian lifestyle.
