FROM PURCHASE TO VISION: THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS LA GHIANDAIA

It all began in March 2024, when an Italian couple purchased Casale La Ghiandaia through the Great Estate network. The property had been home to the American painter Linda Schrank for 40 years. The clients chose a farmhouse that had already been renovated, yet wished to make it truly their own, adapting it to their tastes and lifestyle. Their intention was clear: to move straight away, experience it, understand its potential, and then plan a more in-depth, deliberate renovation. A journey that required coordination, vision, and a network of professionals capable of working in perfect harmony.

A CONSTANT PRESENCE: TRUST IN THE GREAT ESTATE TEAM

From the very first days, the clients expressed the need for a reliable point of reference who could manage the property in their absence. This role was taken on by Anna Marchettini, Head of the Administration Department at Great Estate, who provided the clients with the highest level of reassurance through her professionalism and care. RESTYLING AND PREPARATION: THE TOUCH OF GREAT SYNERGY

Before the full renovation began, architect Laura Terziani, from the Rocchini–Terziani studio, collaborated with other Great Synergy partners to design a light and contemporary restyling. A targeted intervention intended to make the home immediately livable, while also defining the guidelines for the broader renovation project. This phase, completed in October 2024, served as the starting point for a visionary project: to understand the essence of the farmhouse, enhance its potential, and carefully select the most suitable professionals and materials.

THE PROJECT TAKES SHAPE WITH THE RENOVATION

In October 2024, the first phase of renovation work began, led by the Rocchini–Terziani studio. The work, which was completed in mid-July 2025, involved a major transformation of the interiors: a new layout, the creation of a completely renovated kitchen, and a gym. Outside, the swimming pool was relocated, a new sports field was created, and numerous landscaping projects were carried out.
This ambitious project was made possible thanks to a network of qualified partners and constant collaboration between architects, technicians, and craftsmen, many of whom were already part of the Great Synergy network.

FROM DREAM HOME TO LUXURY HOSPITALITY: THE ROLE OF GREAT STAYS

Once the renovation was complete, the clients decided to take another step forward in their journey with Holding GE, exploring new opportunities. Impressed by the result and the quality of the experience, they are now considering adding La Ghiandaia to the luxury tourist rental circuit managed by Great Stays, the business unit dedicated to hospitality excellence. In recent months, architect Terziani, together with the client, has been presenting an expansion project that includes the construction of a small, luxurious indoor spa and a solar greenhouse. The work, scheduled to begin in 2026, aims to enhance every detail and further increase the property’s value and uniqueness, preparing it for possible future entry into the Great Stays portfolio.
