The English football club West Ham United are ready for a big move after selling Upton Park, their historic home since 1904. The ‘Hammers’, as they are affectionately known will, from 2016, play at the Olympic Stadium. The public announcement this morning stated that the stadium in east London was sold to a real estate company who will convert the stadium into a residential complex of 700 apartments. According to early rumours, West Ham United will collect more than 85 million Euros from the sale. The new property complex should be finished by 2018. In memory of the club, a statue of Bobby Moore, the clubs most famous player and idol, will remain there.
