Casetta Sul Chiostro: the house of the heart of Charles and Janet in the hills of Tuscany

An authentic retreat, valuable support, and a dream come true: the story of Charles and Janet, who, thanks to Alice Ceccomoro and the Great Estate Group, purchased Casetta Sul Chiostro, in Cortona.

A PEACEFUL LIFE IN CONNECTICUT WITH ITALY IN THE HEART

Charles and Janet live in New Canaan, a quiet town nestled in green Connecticut, just a few miles from the hustle and bustle of New York City. A serene life of affection and understated beauty. Yet every time they boarded a flight to Rome, something inside them stirred.

Rome has become a second home: my sister lives there and teaches at American University

recounts Charles.

We started spending three months a year in Italy and soon realized that the dream was becoming more and more concrete. So we decided: it was time to find our Italian refuge.

The destination? Tuscany. A choice guided not only by beauty, but by a deep feeling of belonging.

We had been there before on vacationand each time we were enchanted: the pace of life, the food, the wine, the people. Everything spoke to us of an authentic Italy, the one we wanted to experience.

Charles continues.

THE MEETING WITH ALICE CECCOMORO

During one of their online searches, an ad caught Charles’ attention: a house near Cortona. He then decided to contact the agency, and that’s how he met Alice Ceccomoro, a consultant with the Great Estate Group. From that moment, the path to “Home” found its guide.

Alice speaks perfect English and has been invaluable in explaining to us the many differences between buying a home in the United States and in Italy. She accompanied us with patience and great professionalism. During the first inspection tour in Italy, we did not find the right house, but we kept in touch with Alice: she kept sending us proposals and I would call her with some new ideas. Then, one day in the fall, came the announcement of Casetta Sul Chiostro.

CASETTA SUL CHIOSTRO: LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

The name already evoked peace, silence, beauty. And when Charles and Janet saw the property, it was love at first sight.

We liked that it was part of a small hamlet: we didn’t have to worry about the garden, the upkeep. And the location was perfect: close to Cortona and Camucia, everything within easy reach.

But above all, it was a place that spoke the language of the soul: welcoming, discreet, authentic. A refuge that seemed to be waiting for them.

SUPPORT BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS

The rest is a story of trust.
Alice made every step of Charles and Janet’s buying process serene and understandable-from negotiation to support after the purchase, for utilities, taxes, and every little need that may seem like an obstacle when buying a home in another country.

The quality of assistance Alice offered us was incredible, far superior to any of our other experiences. She made us feel safe, listened to, accompanied. She is a tremendous resource for Great Estate, and we would recommend her to anyone looking to buy a home in this part of Italy.

Today for Charles and Janet, Casetta Sul Chiostro is much more than a property:
it is their corner of the world, where time slows down and dreams take shape among the Tuscan hills.
