Last 31st July, Mr Bent Andersen, straight from Denmark, bought, thanks to the help of Great Estate, an amazing apartment in the “Fonteverde Living” complex: his personal report.
I am Danish citizen, living in Helsingør – Kronborg Castle and Hamlet you know– and a pharmacist by training. I am retired and have during my active work life been engaged in the pharmaceutical industry in different parts of the world. The job has taken me to a number of countries, and I have very fond memories of most but especially of the 8 years we spent in Japan.
However, Italy have always had a special place in my heart. I visited Italy for the first time with my parents more than 50 years ago. During my summer holidays as a pharmacy student I acted as tour leader in Italy at lake Garda. Over the years we have spent numerous family vacations in Italy in rented houses in different parts of the country, but most often in Tuscany.
The combined Italian experiences lead us to start looking for a place of our own in the Tuscany region. Our first action was to start searching the internet for available apartments, and very quickly the name of the Great Estate group popped up. Via their web site we developed a special interest in the apartments in the FonteLiving Complex. They all looked fresh and in good condition, furnished and ready to move into.
In early march 2018 we arranged with Roberto Biggera a visit to the area to see the apartments in FonteLiving, and a few other options like a town house in Cetona and a country house in the outskirts of the city. As vacant apartments in FonteLiving are open for rent we decided to book an apartment in the building for 3 days during our house hunting.
That gave us a wonderful opportunity to experience firsthand how it could be to live in the complex. The extremely helpful concierge Michele and his assistant Antonietta demonstrated several apartments in the building for us but rather quickly we decided as to which apartment would suit us the best: “La Vie En Rose” apartment (click here to discover the property).
Once the decision of a purchase was taken Roberto was very efficient in procuring all necessary papers and extremely helpful in negotiating the financial terms on our behalf towards the seller. The whole process took about 3 months, and on August 1stwe could take ownership of a nice and modern apartment with a marvelous view towards the ancient village of San Casciano dei Bagni.
We had no previous knowledge of San Casciano dei Bagni, but we look forward to experience life in a small community, and with improvement of our rudimentary Italian also to get acquainted with some of the local inhabitants. Having lived in Japan we have learned to appreciate a relaxing bath in the many hot springs (onsen). Finding that our new Italian home is located in an area with several hot springs we consider an extra bonus.
In summary we have been very satisfied with the support and help of the GE Group, represented by Roberto Biggera. With his professional attitude and patient, but very efficient answers to my many questions and proposals during the purchase period, the whole process went very smoothly.
