Do you remember the amazing “flash” sale of “La Quercia Illuminata” farmhouse in Città Della Pieve, sold in 2018? Well, we met the new owners of this beautiful property, an English-Dutch couple, who told us about their experience.
Good morning, we are Nic and Jolanda. We live in Surrey, in the UK. We have been holidaying in Italy for many years and we really love the Italian food, the beautiful countryside and the friendly people. We have been to many areas but eventually we decided to look for a house in Umbria.
We found Great Estate on the global property websites. The website is very easy to use and has lots of information, including floorplans, giving you a good overview of the property and its surroundings.
Our GE trusted consultant were Filippo Cori and Roberto Biggera. Both have been very friendly, professional and quick with their responses, even in the weekends! We saw about 4/5 properties with them, initially in Le Marche but, once we decided on Umbria, all further properties were within a 10-mile radius of Citta della Pieve. And so, we discovered “La Quercia Illuminata”. We decided to purchase it because of its beauty and features, it has been designed and build by a local architect and his wife, who is an interior designer. The house is suited to live here all year around, which was important for us.
However, the main attraction of the renovated farmhouse is the location. Perfectly situated, only 10 minutes from Citta della Pieve with all its facilities and not to mention many great restaurants in the area and just over the border in Tuscany. In 10 minutes, you can reach both motorway exits and the railway station of Chiuisi. Making daytrips to Rome, Florence and beyond possible.
The negotiation process is very different from the UK but, on the GE website, it is clearly explained and both Filippo and Roberto were on hand to explain further if needed.
Generally speaking, we really appreciated the different services offered by Great Estate. We especially liked the drone videos because they give a great overview of the location of the property and the land.
The post-sale services are very helpful too. The only improvement we can suggest is with regards to after-sales (the changing over of utility bills etc.) the communications could be slightly better structured.
But on the whole, we can confirm that our experience with GE has been very positive, so we would definitely recommend Great Estate, as we have been very happy with the service they provide.
